The purpose of human existence is to rise above the illusion of existence. To "exist" is to be separate from or to stand out from. In the Vedic literature, specifically the Yoga Vasishta, we understand the true nature of the Universe and the conclusion is our lives are pure illusion.
There is only one Being in this Universe and that is the Creator. All of the people you see around you, including yourself, are dream creatures in the Mind of the Creator. To elevate individual consciousness above the illusion to become established in the Consciousness of the Creator is to achieve the highest level of Moksha available in this Universe, i.e., Brahman Consciousness. This is the Realization "Aham Brahmasmi" or "I am the Creator [of this Universe]".
Brahman Consciousness is the objective of the Doctor of Divinity in Brahman Consciousness program. This course of study has an experience component and a knowledge component. Knowledge fosters greater experience and experience opens the awareness to greater knowledge.
